| Purpose: | To mentor and be accountable for the all members who minister to others by prayer or anointing with oil |
| Population(s) served: | Prayer Ministry Team Members Lay Anointers Prayer Chain Members |
Skills / Qualifications:
- have undergone personal counselling
- understand and know the Holy Spirit’s healing on a personal level
- strong interpersonal, communication and listening skills
- a sensitivity to people of diverse backgrounds, and for those in difficult circumstances
- genuine compassion and respect for all persons
- position requires a Police Records Check

Training Provided:
- Healing Prayer Training
- Diocesan Sexual Misconduct training every 3 years
Meeting Date & Time:
- meetings with the entire team and the Incumbent every few months
Time Commitment Involved:
- time to answer frequent telephone calls during the week
- occasional training sessions for members of the team as needed
- supervision during the 10:45 a.m. Sunday Service
Duties & Responsibilities:
- schedule Prayer Ministry Team members into teams for the 10:45 a.m. Sunday Service, as well as the monthly Healing Service
- communicate any concerns to the Incumbent in a timely fashion
- oversee the Lay Anointers as necessary
- oversee the Prayer Chain as necessary
- encourage opportunities for trainings
- become open to each Prayer Ministry Team member in order to ensure healthy growth
- ensure the Prayer time / Anointing time during the service runs smoothly to provide those being
- ministered to with a safe, positive experience of the Holy Spirit
- is responsible for interviewing new members and completing the appropriate section on the Responsible Ministry: Screening in Faith Checklist
- ensure others follow the guidelines of the Responsible Ministry: Screening in Faith guidelines, especially making sure the “One-on-One Record Sheet” is completed when necessary
- submits a report for the Annual Vestry Report Book
Limits of the Position:
- comply with the Responsible Ministry: Screening in Faith reporting requirement when meeting one-on-one
- comply with all policies governing confidentiality
