Worship Leader - Early Service

| Purpose: | To facilitate musical praise and worship within the church |
| Population(s) served: | The congregation |
Skills / Qualifications:
- requisite skill on the keyboard
- basic knowledge of hymnody and contemporary repertoire
- basic singing - able to keep on key
- music skills (sight reading, improvisation, arranging)
- have a biblical understanding of worship
- mature Christian
- have a thorough grasp of the liturgy and order of service
- sensitive to the Holy Spirit
- position requires a Police Records Check

Training Provided:
- on-the-job training
- Responsible Ministry: Screening in Faith training at the parish level
- Diocesan Sexual Misconduct training every 3 years
Meeting Date & Time:
- Sunday 8:45 a.m. services
- special services as planned
- occasional Music Ministry meetings with other Worship Leaders
Time Commitment Involved:
- 8:45 a.m. service - set-up, clean-up and service - 2 hours
- preparation and practice time - 2 hours weekly (extra for special services)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- choose the appropriate music according to theme, season and other directives in consultation with the Incumbent
- set up keyboard, sound equipment, overhead projector
- lead Worship by playing and singing
- attend the Music Ministry meetings
- to augment with singers, music accompaniment where and when possible
- is responsible for interviewing other members of the Music Ministry Team and completing the appropriate section on the Responsible Ministry: Screening in Faith Checklist
Limits of the Position:
- comply with the Responsible Ministry: Screening in Faith Policy if working with children or vulnerable adults, which includes completing the “One-on-One Record Form” where applicable
