Skills & Qualifications:
- capable guitarist and / or keyboardist
- have a good singing voice
- mature Christian
- sensitive to the Holy Spirit
- have a biblical understanding of worship
- strong leadership skills
- have an ear for music
- good teaching skills
- good public speaking skills
- proficient at musical preparation
- musical presentation experience is an asset
- position requires a Police Records Check
- a thorough grasp of the liturgy and order of service

Training Provided:
- on-the-job training
- Responsible Ministry: Screening in Faith training at the parish level
- Diocesan Sexual Misconduct training every 3 years
Meeting Date & Time:
- Sunday 10:45 a.m. service 1 -2 times per month
- practices are held Wed. or Thurs. evenings from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.
- lead Worship at Healing Service as scheduled, as well as other special services
- occasional Worship Leaders meetings (usually on a Wed. 6:30 - 8 p.m.)
Time Commitment Involved:
- preparation varies from 3 - 7 hours per week for each Sunday service
- up to 12 hours preparation for a Healing Service.
Description of Duties / Responsibilities:
- pray / prepare for the service
- select the music - for 10:45 a.m. Service 12 songs plus Sanctus & Lord’s Prayer
- practice by yourself and with others whom you need to contact
- arrive at church with time to set up the sound system and have sound checks, and get out the overheads - provide list of songs for Priest & overhead person
- provide music for the band
- watch the priest for any variations in the service, communicate with the person doing the overheads. You must be very flexible.
- after the service, pack up the sound system, overheads and music
- attend the Music Ministry Meetings
- give assistance to the Incumbent in interviewing Worship Leader candidates, completing the appropriate section on the Responsible Ministry: Screening in Faith Screening Checklist
- is responsible for interviewing other members of the Music Ministry Team and completing the appropriate section on the Responsible Ministry: Screening in Faith Checklist
Limits of the Position:
- comply with the Responsible Ministry: Screening in Faith Policy if working with children or vulnerable adults, which includes completing the “One-on-One Record Form” where applicable
